ABOUT
ME
"My practice examines liminal states of human experience through intuitive painting and drawing processes that explore tension between control, surrender, and ego dissolution."

My Practice

My work explores what becomes possible when the boundaries of the self begin to dissolve: the idea that the dissolution of the human ego may allow for greater harmony with one another, the natural world, and the unknown.

Working across painting and drawing, I begin with intuitive, subconscious mark-making, allowing forms to emerge through process rather than fixed intention. This approach reflects the tension between surrender and control that underpins my exploration of human experience.

Throughout the work, figures occupy threshold states where certainty dissolves and fixed ideas of identity begin to destabilise. They exist between waking and sleeping, light and dark, falling and suspension, submerging and emerging.

These liminal conditions create a tension between agency and vulnerability. Figures move between intention, surrender, absorption, and displacement, framing human experience as unstable and continually shifting.
